(ConservativeStar.com) – For several months, President Trump and Republicans have expressed growing concerns about mail-in voting. They talk about fraud and the reliability of the US Postal Service. On August 14, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci said there isn’t a reason people can’t vote in-person this November.
“If we pay attention to the fundamental tenants of infection control and diminution of transmission, we could be way down in November. It is entirely conceivable,” Dr. Anthony Fauci says about the pandemic during the election.https://t.co/yqI273W3bz pic.twitter.com/aNIiLmuNd0

Fauci stressed that like any other event or situation, it’s entirely safe for people to vote at polling stations so long as they follow CDC guidelines and wear a mask and practice social distancing. However, he also said those who are unhealthy or have a weakened immune system should vote by mail. In April, Fauci said there was no guarantee that voting in-person was safe.
On August 6, Fauci said that by November, he believes COVID-19 could be “way down” if people follow the CDC guidelines. However, he stressed that all Americans needed to come together for that to happen.
