US Border Official Says Migrant Caravan Will Not Be Allowed to Come in America

(ConservativeStar.com) – After almost exactly a year after it was first found in America, the COVID-19 pandemic still has the country in its grip with curfews and travel restrictions active in many places. These are purportedly in place to help prevent the spread of a virus that’s caused almost 375,000 deaths across the nation. And a migrant caravan on its way to the US could make that worse.

As of January 10, 2021, the CDC has Honduras ranked at the top level (4) of contagion for the disease. Because of these factors, Mark Morgan, the acting Commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has said that a reported caravan coming from Honduras would not be allowed to cross the border into this country.

This caravan is expected to leave Honduras on or about January 15, and is the second to form in as many months. The first was stopped in mid-December before reaching Guatemala’s border because local officials wanted to make sure all passengers were tested for the coronavirus. With the number of Covid-19 cases rising, the last thing we need is to make matters worse by allowing potentially infected migrants into the country.
