Back-to-back to shootings in West Hollywood community

LOS ANGELES, CA – Residents of the usually serene Sawtelle neighborhood in West Los Angeles are reeling after two fatal shootings occurred within days of each other. The first incident took place late Friday night near Bundy Drive and Wilshire Boulevard. The second, just a few blocks away, shattered the early morning calm on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that a man was shot multiple times in an alley near Missouri Avenue and Sawtelle Boulevard. He died at the scene, casting a shadow of fear over the community.

Less than two miles from this location, another man was killed Friday night while sitting in his car in a parking garage. The garage, part of an office building, became a crime scene as police searched for leads.

Elise Garcia, a local resident, expressed her shock. “It’s unsettling to hear it happened so close to my home,” she said, noting that while minor crimes occur occasionally, such violence is rare.

Authorities have not released information about any suspects in either shooting. However, they believe the incidents involve different gunmen, leaving two shooters at large in the neighborhood.

The lack of clarity around the incidents has left residents anxious. Many were unaware of the full extent of the situation until informed by reporters, despite the visible police presence and crime scene tape.

Community members are now on edge, seeking ways to restore their sense of security. The LAPD continues to investigate both homicides and urges anyone with information to come forward.
