Deputy crashes into palm tree and rolls car

MIAMI, FL – A Miami-Dade sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized following a dramatic rollover crash earlier today. The incident left the deputy’s cruiser severely damaged after it collided with a palm tree in northwest Miami-Dade.

Witnesses described the aftermath as miraculous, noting that the deputy only sustained minor injuries. Many who passed the scene remarked on the extensive damage, comparing the crushed vehicle to a “crushed can.”

The area, which was initially cordoned off with cones and yellow tape, has since been cleared. The palm tree that the cruiser struck was removed by county workers, highlighting the force of the impact.

The crash site, located at the intersection near Northwest 22nd Avenue and 75th Street, showed signs of the vehicle’s violent rollover, with burn marks visible where the cruiser landed upside down. Despite the severity, the deputy emerged relatively unscathed.

Eyewitnesses expressed disbelief at the accident. Darius Young, a local resident, said, “I don’t know how he did it,” reflecting the shock felt by many.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the deputy was driving northbound when the vehicle struck the palm tree, causing it to flip and land across the intersection. Authorities have been on the scene since early morning, investigating the circumstances.

The deputy’s condition is stable, with injuries primarily to the upper body. The Sheriff’s Office has launched an active investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

Efforts to obtain video footage of the incident have yielded limited results. Only security footage from a nearby store captured the response but not the crash itself.

As the investigation continues, officials are working to uncover what led to the crash. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.
