NATIONAL CITY, CA – A DJ’s night on a yacht turned into a harrowing ordeal when a violent confrontation erupted as the boat docked. Ricky Haynes, a local DJ, was packing up after a birthday party gig when chaos ensued.
As Haynes prepared to disembark, he heard screams and saw two women from the party being attacked. Without hesitation, he intervened, pushing the assailants away. However, during the scuffle, Haynes was pushed into the water.
Climbing back onto the dock, Haynes felt a sharp pain. A woman nearby alerted him that he had been stabbed. Bleeding profusely, Haynes managed to apply pressure to his wound and remained calm until help arrived.
The attackers, a group of more than ten people, fled in vehicles. Haynes was rushed to the emergency room, where he was diagnosed with a punctured lung and a broken rib, injuries dangerously close to his heart. Despite the severity, he expressed gratitude for surviving the ordeal.
Haynes, who faces a lengthy recovery, has no regrets about stepping in. “It was the right thing to do,” he said, acknowledging the risk he took to protect the women. He hopes his story will lead to tips and eventually arrests, fearing more violence if the perpetrators remain at large.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist Haynes with medical expenses. He remains hopeful that justice will be served, urging the community to come forward with any information.
The incident has left a lasting impact on Haynes, who is determined to prevent others from experiencing similar trauma. His bravery has resonated with many, highlighting the importance of standing up against violence.
