(ConservativeStar.com) – On Thursday, November 4, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci testified before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Unsurprisingly, the hearing was quite a doozy.
One hot topic was how much and when the doctor knew about the National Institute of Health (NIH) funding the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and their “gain-of-function” research into the bat coronavirus. According to the United States Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), gain-of-function is defined as improving “the ability of a pathogen to cause disease… thereby enabling assessment of the pandemic potential of emerging infectious agents….”
In layman’s terms, and in the context of what the world has been facing for the past year and a half, it means taking a virus that generally won’t infect humans and tinkering with its DNA so that it becomes extremely transmittable among us. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) continues to insist that Dr. Fauci is lying now and that he lied in a July 2021 hearing about his knowledge of the research.
At one point, the hearing got heated when Paul told Dr. Fauci that he might be better off tendering his resignation rather than continue to avoid answering his questions.
Rand Paul grilling Dr Fauci: "Until you accept responsibility, we're not going to get anywhere close to trying to prevent another lab leak of this dangerous sort of experiment. You won't admit that it's dangerous, and for that lack of judgment, I think it's time that you resign." pic.twitter.com/L1GNw9Nu9S

The testimony also came one day after children ages 5 to 11 began receiving COVID-19 vaccines. Dr. Walensky fielded a question from Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS) about the possibility of a mandate coming from the Biden administration where he noted that traditionally childhood vaccination requirements are left to the individual state or local jurisdictions. She assured the senator that the CDC’s announcement was only a strong recommendation and the decision to require the vaccine would remain where it always has been.
Those types of “recommendations” haven’t stopped President Biden from requiring vaccines in the past, will this one be any different? Time will tell.
