Father allegedly encouraged child to beat up peer while barging onto school bus

FERGUSON, MO – A troubling incident unfolded on a Ferguson Florissant school bus when a father allegedly encouraged his young daughter to assault another student. Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for the parent involved.

The father, identified as 36-year-old Maurice Fox, reportedly boarded a school bus on Frost Avenue with his six-year-old daughter. According to court documents, Fox instructed his daughter to “do what I told you to do,” prompting her to repeatedly punch a seven-year-old girl in the head.

Witnesses on the bus were left in shock as Fox allegedly urged his daughter to continue, stating, “I want her crying again.” The entire episode was captured on camera, leading to swift police action.

Parenting expert Tricia Davis, who runs Equal Shares Parenting, emphasized the importance of modeling peaceful conflict resolution for children. “Our children are going to do more of what we do than what we say,” Davis noted. “We must teach them to handle conflicts peacefully.”

The Ferguson Florissant School District condemned the incident, affirming that school buses are extensions of the campus and such behavior is unacceptable. “Trespassing and engaging in this behavior are completely unacceptable,” the district stated.

Fox is now facing four misdemeanor charges, including trespassing and two counts of assault. He has a $100,000 bond and faces prior convictions for armed robbery and aggravated battery.
