Homeowner killed after she raced home to confront robbery suspects

DECATUR, GA – Authorities in DeKalb County are seeking assistance from the public to identify three individuals linked to a burglary that escalated into a fatal shooting. The incident occurred late Saturday evening, around 10:36 p.m., on Citation Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered 36-year-old Anna Scott, who had been shot. She was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Scott’s vehicle, a Jeep, was also found near her front porch, riddled with bullet holes.

It appears Scott witnessed the suspects attempting to break into her home through her doorbell camera. A captured image from the footage shows one of the suspects, and authorities are urging the public to review the image closely.

The doorbell footage provides a chilling glimpse of the burglary in progress and captures the moment Scott arrived at her home, inadvertently confronting the suspects. One of the intruders opened fire, leading to the tragic outcome.
