Man accused of sexual assault at Target

ATLANTA, GA – A chilling incident unfolded in Buckhead as a woman narrowly escaped a violent assault outside a Target store. On Wednesday morning, just before the store opened, the woman was attacked in a stairwell by 30-year-old Turin Mott, who is now linked to multiple assaults in the area.

Mott was apprehended and booked into the Fulton County Jail on Thursday, less than a day after the attack. The victim had sensed danger as Mott approached her and, within moments, was tackled and dragged into a nearby stairwell. Surveillance footage captured the harrowing scene as Mott attempted to assault her.

In a fortunate turn of events, a passerby heard the woman’s cries and intervened, pulling Mott away and allowing her to escape. This good Samaritan’s timely action prevented a potentially tragic outcome.

Authorities have revealed that Mott is also connected to an earlier assault on the same day at the Lenox MARTA station, located less than a mile away. In this incident, Mott reportedly chased a woman with a belt, causing her to fall from her bicycle and suffer a head injury.

The investigation into Mott’s past has uncovered a disturbing pattern. Two years prior, he was arrested for an attack at the same MARTA station, where he allegedly attempted to subdue a woman with force. She managed to fend him off, avoiding serious harm.

These incidents have raised alarm in the community, prompting police to delve deeper into Mott’s history to determine if there are other victims. The swift actions of the good Samaritan in Buckhead have been praised, highlighting the importance of community vigilance.

Residents are urged to remain cautious and report any suspicious activity as investigations continue. The Atlanta police are committed to ensuring the safety of all citizens and are working tirelessly to uncover any further connections to Mott.
