Man faces several charges after newborn found dead in Walmart bathroom

KINGSVILLE, TX – In a case that has gripped the small community of Kingsville, a newborn was discovered lifeless in a local Walmart bathroom, leading to a cascade of disturbing revelations about the girl’s father.

Jerry Lee Martinez, a Mathis resident, is in jail facing serious allegations after his teenage daughter revealed a history of sexual abuse. The teen told investigators that Martinez, her biological father, had assaulted her repeatedly over two years, resulting in her pregnancy.

The situation escalated when a Texas Ranger joined the Kingsville Police Department to investigate the grim discovery in the Walmart bathroom. It was revealed that Martinez was present when his daughter left the stillborn infant.

During a session at the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Coastal Bend, the daughter detailed that her father had taken her to Mexico, attempting to abort the pregnancy. She recounted that the baby was left lifeless due to the failed abortion and subsequent abuse.

The affidavit further describes how Martinez allegedly reacted violently upon learning of the pregnancy, striking his daughter to induce a miscarriage. These claims have led to his arrest on charges of child endangerment, witness tampering, and evidence tampering.

Martinez’s court appearance on Thursday marked another step in the unfolding legal drama. Meanwhile, the teenage girl has been moved to a secure location, ensuring her safety as the investigation proceeds.

Kingsville’s police chief has assured the public that the case is being thoroughly examined, as the community grapples with the gravity of the situation.
