MIAMI, FL – A high-speed chase in northwest Miami-Dade ended dramatically Saturday afternoon when a car crashed into a residential yard, sparking an intense pursuit and subsequent arrest. The incident unfolded after an erratic driver caught the attention of Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officers, leading to a sequence of events that left local residents in shock.
According to authorities, the situation began when an FHP trooper noticed a vehicle driving erratically while exiting Interstate 95. The trooper attempted to initiate a routine traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as 41-year-old Antoine David Lawson, accelerated away, triggering a pursuit through the neighborhood.
The chase reached a chaotic conclusion at the intersection of Northwest 103rd Street and Northwest Second Court, where Lawson’s black Nissan Maxima crashed through a line of bushes and into a home’s yard. The crash was captured on a home surveillance camera, vividly illustrating the vehicle’s abrupt and destructive halt.
