KEW GARDENS, NY – A mother in Kew Gardens is grappling with fear after a harrowing home invasion last week that left her family shaken and robbed of valuables worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The incident occurred when five masked individuals stormed into her home, demanding cash and leaving with a significant haul of jewelry and designer items.
The unsettling event unfolded when the homeowner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was at her residence on Mayfair Road. Around 7 p.m., the masked intruders followed her nanny into the house, setting off a terrifying ordeal that lasted nearly an hour. The woman recounted how the intruders repeatedly demanded, “Where’s the cash?” despite their assurances that they wouldn’t harm anyone.
As chaos ensued, the woman rushed to her six-year-old daughter, who had emerged from her room amidst the commotion. The intruders initially separated the family, causing panic and distress. “I heard my daughter screaming because they had her in another room,” the mother recalled. In a moment of desperation, she managed to reunite with her daughter, thanks to the intruders’ decision to allow them to stay together.
Inside the daughter’s room, the invaders bound the hands of the mother and the nanny with duct tape before ransacking the house. They made off with an array of high-end purses, jewelry, shoes, and suitcases, all valued at over a million dollars. Despite their persistent demands for cash, the intruders found only seven dollars in the home.
