PHILADELPHIA, PA – A man was fatally shot during a tense encounter with police in the Fairhill neighborhood on Thursday evening. The incident unfolded around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Somerset and Mutter streets, drawing swift response from law enforcement and stirring community concern.
Philadelphia police reported that the altercation began when officers attempted to stop the man on the street. During the confrontation, the man reportedly reached into a bag and pulled out a firearm.
