Police seek woman accused of killing man for cheating

JAMESPORT, NY – The search intensifies for Marjorie Corey, a 53-year-old woman wanted in connection with the brutal murder of Conrad Gowan, a 36-year-old resident of Jamesport. Gowan was killed in his home on March 4, 2024, in an incident that has left his family and the community in shock.

Corey, known to use aliases such as Nicola Watson and Niki, is alleged to have entered Gowan’s apartment and fatally stabbed him in the neck. Investigators believe the attack was fueled by jealousy after Corey discovered she was not Gowan’s only romantic partner.

The day of the incident, Corey reportedly traveled from Queens to Jamesport, where she encountered another woman at Gowan’s residence. A confrontation ensued, culminating in the tragic stabbing. Suffolk County Police have issued a warrant for her arrest on charges of second-degree murder.

Corey is believed to have ties to several neighborhoods in Queens, including Saint Albans, Hollis, and Jamaica. Authorities suspect she might be working as a home health aide, possibly under the table, while moving between basement apartments in South Queens.

Gowan, who also worked as a home health aide, had aspirations of becoming a registered nurse. His family describes him as hardworking, with dreams of achieving the American dream and bringing his mother to the United States.

Police have released multiple photographs of Corey, including her driver’s license and mugshot, in hopes of garnering public assistance in locating her. She has a criminal history, with past arrests for grand larceny and drug-related offenses.

Gowan’s family has made a heartfelt plea for Corey to surrender, expressing the deep pain and sleepless nights they endure. “Turn yourself in so we can all have peace of mind,” they urge.

Gowan leaves behind not only his grieving family but also a ten-year-old daughter. Detectives are appealing to the public for any information regarding Corey’s whereabouts, encouraging those with knowledge to contact Crime Stoppers or the Suffolk County Police.
