Police seeking two men for violent robbery of elderly victim

NEW YORK, NY – Authorities have released new details about a brazen attack and robbery that occurred in the Bronx earlier this year, seeking public assistance in identifying the suspects. The incident, which took place in January, involved two individuals who allegedly assaulted and robbed a 77-year-old man in his apartment building.

Police report that the suspects entered the apartment building in the Concourse Village area of the Bronx, targeting the elderly resident. The suspects reportedly pushed the man to the ground and repeatedly punched him, leaving him with significant pain and bruising. Following the assault, they entered the victim’s apartment, stole various items, and fled the scene.

The attack occurred around 10 a.m. on January 27, near the intersection of Grand Concourse and East 163rd Street. Surveillance footage captured the suspects covering their faces and wearing dark, long-sleeved jackets and pants. Despite the release of these images, the particular apartment building where the crime took place has not been disclosed.

Local residents expressed shock and concern over the attack, particularly because it targeted a senior citizen. “It’s unsettling to see such crimes against our elders,” one resident remarked. The incident has heightened concerns about safety and vulnerability among the elderly community in the area.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.

This appeal for public assistance highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in addressing crimes against vulnerable populations. The NYPD is hopeful that with the community’s help, they can identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for this callous act.

Residents are reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. Community leaders are also advocating for increased safety measures and support for the elderly to prevent similar incidents in the future.
