Several suspects in violent jewelry store heist arrested

SAN JOSE, CA – The bustling Little Saigon neighborhood remains tense as a local jewelry store owner faces significant financial challenges following a brazen robbery earlier this month. The store owner is grappling with insurance claims, expecting to bear thousands of dollars in losses out-of-pocket.

In a significant breakthrough, San Jose police announced the arrest of seven individuals linked to the robbery, which left the store’s 88-year-old owner seriously injured. The arrests include a dramatic capture in the police headquarters’ parking lot, where 23-year-old Zachary Blue Gordon was taken into custody.

Authorities are emphasizing their commitment to community safety. “This is our community. No one attacks us and walks away,” an official declared, underscoring the determination to bring all involved to justice.

The arrested individuals, ranging from late teens to early 30s, hail from various parts of the region, including Pacifica, East Palo Alto, Manteca, and San Francisco. They are believed to be part of a larger group of 13 suspects involved in the September 5th robbery.

The victim’s niece expressed relief over the arrests, describing the swift police response as a source of comfort for the family. “I had goosebumps and I am so happy,” she said, praising the government’s quick action.

While details remain scarce about how Gordon ended up at the police headquarters, other arrests were made with the assistance of multiple local police departments. This coordinated effort reflects a broader strategy to combat crime beyond city limits.

The investigation has also uncovered a substantial cache of weapons and drugs, heightening community tensions. However, the recent arrests have offered reassurance to residents who have been on edge since the incident.

Law enforcement officials are urging the remaining suspects to surrender, warning that their capture is inevitable. Most of those arrested are currently held in the Santa Clara County Jail or the women’s correctional facility, with one suspect awaiting extradition from San Francisco.

The community and law enforcement remain steadfast, with ongoing efforts to ensure justice and restore peace.
