Suspect shot after struggle with officer

MAGNOLIA, TX – A tense domestic situation in Magnolia, Texas, escalated into a violent confrontation between Montgomery County deputies and a suspect, resulting in gunfire and injuries.

During the struggle, the suspect allegedly punched a deputy in the face. As a second deputy attempted to intervene and arrest the suspect, the suspect reportedly tried to disarm the officer.  

In a split-second decision, the deputy who had been punched fired his weapon, striking the suspect. Both the injured deputy and the suspect were promptly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The extent of the injuries sustained by both individuals remains unclear at this time. Authorities have not yet released the names of the involved parties.
