RALEIGH, NC – Two North Carolina State Highway Patrol troopers have been placed on administrative leave following an investigation into a fatal crash in Raleigh. The investigation has led to the Wake County District Attorney’s Office dismissing nearly 200 cases, raising questions about the integrity of the officers involved.
The investigation began after a deadly collision on Capitol Boulevard on October 7, 2022. Concerns were raised by an insider from the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), prompting District Attorney Lauren Freeman to review dash cam and body cam footage from the scene.
