Urgent Search for Missing Two-Month-Old Baby After Parents Were Arrested

British police are looking for a two-month-old baby after arresting the infant’s mother and her boyfriend, who had been missing since January.

Constance Marten, 35, was arrested alongside 48-year-old Mark Gordon, a convicted sex offender. The couple had been on the run ever since their son was born in early January.

They were arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter after a tipoff from a member of the public led to their detention in Brighton, southern England.
The baby was not with them when they were arrested, and police are concerned that the infant may have come to harm.

Throughout the country, Marten and Gordon have been spotted paying for everything in cash and covering their faces when on CCTV. On Jan. 5, a car they were traveling in was found abandoned and on fire on the side of a highway.

The police believe Marten gave birth in or near the car just a few days earlier. Marten was reportedly a drama student when she met Gordon, who comes from an aristocratic family.

Having been convicted of kidnapping and sexual battery in Florida, he served 20 years in prison in the United States. His release from prison resulted in his deportation from the United States.
