Widow evicted from her home that the buyer never paid for

GWEN COUNTY, GA – A widow from Gwinnett County faces eviction from her home of 40 years, a situation that has left her in a mental health facility. Kimberly Gravit, who believed she had significant equity in her home, has not received any payment from the sale of her property, according to her family.

The ordeal began when Gravit was informed that she would be evicted. Overwhelmed by the news, she was admitted to a mental health facility, feeling hopeless and betrayed. Her daughter-in-law, Destiny Waters, explains that Gravit was devastated, realizing she might lose all the equity she had built over the decades.

Consumer investigator Justin Gray spent days unraveling the complex web of court records and transactions that led to this predicament. Despite extensive searches through state and county clerks’ offices, no records indicate that Gravit officially closed a sale with the supposed new owners of her home.

The controversy involves a company called Homesaver 911, which is currently embroiled in legal trouble with Georgia’s attorney general. The company is accused of unlawfully acquiring property titles from homeowners. Gravit had enlisted their help in 2024 to avoid foreclosure, signing over a warranty deed under the impression it was a temporary measure.

However, the deed was transferred not back to Gravit, but to Georgia Venture Investment Company, which subsequently took legal action against her. In 2024, the company claimed Gravit had agreed to sell her home for $150,000 but failed to follow through. A court ruling required her to sell the home, contingent on payment, yet no evidence of such a transaction exists in official records.

Georgia Venture insists they have repeatedly offered the payment to Gravit, yet she allegedly refuses to accept it. The Gravit family disputes this, stating they have never seen any money or documentation to support these claims.

As the eviction date looms, Gravit is left packing her belongings, still bewildered by the situation. The case highlights potential vulnerabilities in real estate transactions and raises questions about the practices of certain companies targeting homeowners in distress.

Justin Gray’s investigation underscores the complexity and confusion surrounding the case, with even legal experts finding the paperwork perplexing. The situation serves as a cautionary tale for other homeowners who might find themselves in similar predicaments.
