Woman pulls knife on restaurant employee

POMPANO BEACH, FL – A shocking incident unfolded at a Pompano Beach restaurant, capturing the attention of both patrons and local authorities. A woman was recorded on surveillance video charging at a restaurant employee with a knife, leaving employees and customers in a state of alarm.

The unsettling events took place at Snappers Fish and Chicken on MLK Junior Boulevard, where 19-year-old Anthony Lewis, a new employee, found himself face-to-face with a woman wielding a knife. Lewis, who had only been working at the restaurant for less than a month, expressed his fear and uncertainty about returning to work after the incident.

“It felt like my life was flashing before my eyes,” Lewis said. The confrontation occurred just before closing time on a Wednesday night when the woman entered the restaurant demanding an Uber order that did not exist. After using the restroom, she began to harass customers, attempting to take their food and car keys.

Employees, deeply concerned by the woman’s erratic behavior, contacted the police. However, the situation escalated when the woman realized she was locked inside the restaurant, prompting her to brandish a knife and threaten Lewis to open the door.

The restaurant locks its doors as a security measure during closing hours, but the situation took a tense turn as the woman grew more aggressive. Eventually, an employee opened the door, allowing her to leave, but not without leaving a lasting impression of fear among the staff.

Law enforcement officials are actively seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the woman involved. Detectives are hopeful that someone will recognize her from the surveillance footage and contact either the Broward Sheriff’s Office or Broward County Crime Stoppers.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident has left a palpable sense of unease among employees and customers alike. The restaurant remains vigilant as authorities continue their investigation.
