6-year-old girl allegedly murdered by her father’s girlfriend

The family and community in Louisiana are mourning the loss of 6-year-old Bella Fontenelle, who was allegedly murdered by her father’s live-in girlfriend, Bunnak “Hannah” Landon, 43. Bella’s aunt, Bianca Cano, expressed her heartbreak and grief over the young girl’s untimely death on a GoFundMe page created in her memory.

The police discovered chilling surveillance footage from neighbors that depicted a woman matching Landon’s description, transporting a large bucket using a wagon in the area. This evidence eventually led the police to the girl’s body, which was found in a bucket on a front lawn.

Harahan Police Chief Edward Lepre recounted that Landon arrived at the police station, seemingly disoriented, and requested assistance. An ambulance was called, and the girl was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. After being discharged, Landon was charged with first-degree murder and obstruction of justice.

Jefferson Parish Coroner Gerry Cvitanovich revealed that preliminary autopsy results indicated Bella’s cause of death as manual strangulation. She also suffered from blunt force injuries to the head.

One neighbor, Steve Morris, remembered Bella as a joyful child with a big smile, always eager to approach others and share a giggle. He fondly recalled seeing the young girl and her older sister playing in the driveway, accompanied by their mother and grandparents.
