The incident occurred at the toddler’s residence on Greenstone Drive, close to Spencer and Attic Atsuma Road. Jason Vasquez, 25, now faces a kidnapping charge following the child’s disappearance.

The Amber Alert was first broadcast late yesterday evening, around 10 p.m., as law enforcement officials began their search for young Matteo. Residents of the neighborhood have since joined the effort, posting signs and distributing flyers featuring Matteo’s image across the community. These posters, seen on light poles and stop signs, describe Matteo as a toddler with brown hair and brown eyes, weighing approximately 25 pounds and measuring around 2 feet tall.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office believes Matteo was abducted from the home where he lived with his uncle Jason and father Joe. Neighbors have expressed that the child appeared to be well-cared-for by both family members. Despite this, the urgency of Matteo’s safe return remains a priority for the community and law enforcement alike.

Investigators have identified a dark gray GMC as the vehicle potentially used in the abduction, carrying the license plate JZY 5720. While the neighborhood remains on high alert, signs of solidarity are evident as the community rallies together, hoping for a swift resolution to this distressing situation.

As the investigation unfolds, the relationship dynamics within Matteo’s household have drawn attention. Neighbors noted that the young boy was well looked after by his uncle and father, leaving many puzzled about the motivations behind the alleged abduction.

The neighborhood’s message to Jason Vasquez is one of urgency and compassion, urging him to prioritize Matteo’s well-being. As more details emerge, the community remains hopeful for a positive outcome and the safe return of Matteo Vasquez to his family.
