A 6-year-old boy was attacked by a coyote at a busy park

CARSON, CA – A 6-year-old boy is recovering after a coyote attacked him at a bustling park in Carson, leaving him with significant injuries. The incident occurred while the boy was attending his sister’s softball game, accompanied by his family.

The young boy, Enoch, bravely recounted the harrowing experience. He was playing when the coyote suddenly approached, attempting to drag him away. His screams for help alerted his mother, who rushed to his side.

Enoch has since received 20 stitches for deep wounds on his legs and has started a series of rabies shots. Despite the trauma, just three days later, Enoch returned to the park, showing remarkable resilience.

His mother, Alyssa Palomar, was present during the incident. “I couldn’t believe it,” she said, describing her panic as she fought off the coyote. The park was filled with people, making the attack even more unexpected and alarming.

The family reported the incident to the Department of Fish and Game. Officials have collected Enoch’s clothing to gather DNA samples in hopes of tracking the coyote responsible for the attack.

While Enoch is on the mend, the incident has left a lasting impact on his family. “It’s shocking,” Palomar admitted. “You never expect something like this to happen in a crowded park.”

A coyote warning sign has since been posted at the park, but Palomar insists it was only put up after the attack. The family is urging local authorities to take further action to ensure the safety of park visitors.
