MISSION VIEJO, CA – Authorities have arrested Andrew Ariel Alfaro, a 29-year-old man suspected of stabbing and critically wounding a female employee at an Amazon facility in Mission Viejo. Alfaro, a resident of Santa Ana, was described by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department as being a delivery associate working for a service partner that carries out deliveries on behalf of Amazon.
Police responded to a report of a stabbing around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Amazon facilities located on Jeronimo Road, located about a mile east of the 5 Freeway. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the 48-year-old female victim and proceeded to provide immediate lifesaving measures on the scene.
Meanwhile, other officers detained Alfaro in the parking area of the facility. The injury-stricken woman, who suffered multiple stab wounds to her upper torso, was promptly rushed to a hospital for treatment. Detectives at the scene recovered a knife, which provided key evidence for the investigation of the incident.
As of now, the connection between Alfaro and the victim as well as Alfaro’s motives for the attack remain under investigation, as stated by the Sheriff’s Department.
