Allegheny County police continue to investigate after three people were shot at Kennywood Park on Saturday night. The park is set to reopen on Friday for its second weekend of Phantom Fall Fest.

After hearing gunshots, visitors ran from the Musik Express area, and police found a firearm near the scene. The gun had been stolen from a vehicle in Columbus, Ohio, in August 2021. A teenager was wearing a black hoodie and a COVID-19-style mask at the time of the incident.

The search for the shooter is ongoing as of Monday evening. Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald said the shooting happened after two groups were fighting inside the park. He said the park is using new technology that doesn’t require people to remove items from their pockets.
