Apartment shooting leaves one dead, another injured

LAS VEGAS, NV – Authorities in Las Vegas are currently investigating a recent shooting in the northwest valley, which resulted in one fatality and another person injured. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) begin their investigation into the incident after receiving reports of a shooting late Tuesday night. The gunfire erupted at a local apartment complex on the 2200 block of N. Torrey Pines Drive, according to Lt. Jason Johansson of the LVMPD.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered the body of a man in his 20s in a second-story apartment unit. The victim had been shot multiple times, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

At around the same time, MountainView Hospital reported treating an 18 or 19 year-old male gunshot victim. Authorities have since determined that he was also shot at the apartment. The young man’s injuries are not life-threatening.

Based on initial investigations, authorities have deduced that several individuals were present in the apartment when the shooting took place. However, the circumstances of the shooting, including potential involvement of a dispute and other parties, are still unclear. All other people present in the apartment had vacated the scene by the time law enforcement arrived.
