Armed man killed in officer-involved shooting

LAS VEGAS, NV – An individual is dead following a dual incident culminating in an officer-involved shooting in a north Las Vegas neighborhood, as per information from the North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD).

The initial reports emerged from an allegedly heated argument involving an armed man at a residence on the 1300 block of Putnam Avenue, near Carey Ave and Bruce Street. However, the man fled the scene before officers could arrive.

Shortly after, police dispatch received reports of another conflict in the 2800 block of E. Taylor Avenue, close to Lake Mead Boulevard and Civic Center Drive, which involved the same man, who was reportedly still carrying a firearm. This time, too, the man made his exit before the authorities arrived at the location.

As the officers were investigating this second occurrence, the man returned to the Taylor Avenue address in a vehicle. As the officers attempted to communicate with him, the man stepped out of his vehicle and drew a gun, resulting in three officers firing their weapons at him.

The man was rushed to UMC Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The entire incident is still under preliminary investigation, and the NLVPD is set to release more information when it becomes available.
