Child accused of killing 10-year-old boy in startling murder case

SACRAMENTO, CA – In a startling case, authorities have confirmed that a 10-year-old child was allegedly killed by another 10-year-old. Members of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a reported shooting around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. In the site, they discovered a juvenile victim who was unresponsive and showing visible injuries on his head and neck.

Deputies hastily initiated CPR on the child before rescue services arrived at the scene. The victim, a 10-year-old boy, was transported to a local health facility where he was tragically pronounced dead.

According to the report from the Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place when the accused 10-year-old retrieved a firearm from his father’s vehicle under the guise of fetching cigarettes. Authorities state that the boy boasted about the firearm, firing a single shot at the victim and hurrying away to hide in a nearby apartment.

Responding officers called for individuals within the apartment to surrender voluntarily. An adult male and two juveniles emerged and were detained. Further investigation identified the adult as 53-year-old Arkete Davis, who was later revealed to be the father of the accused child.

Consequently, the 10-year-old murderer, whose identity isn’t disclosed due to his minor status, was arrested and is currently held at the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility. He faces a serious charge of murder.

Simultaneously, Davis was arrested and transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he awaits trial with bail set at $500,000. His charges encompass several felony firearms violations, including possession of a stolen and loaded firearm in a vehicle, child endangerment, and being an accessory to the incident. It is yet to be confirmed whether Davis has acquired legal representation. His preliminary court appearance is scheduled for January 3.
