PHILADELPHIA, PA – An outbreak of violence struck a Philadelphia neighborhood on Wednesday evening when a 24-year-old father was gunned down in front of his 1-year-old son. They were both on the front steps of the father’s home on D. Street in Kensington when two gunmen unleashed a hail of bullets, firing around 25 shots.
Authorities reported that the unnamed father evacuated the scene with multiple gunshot wounds inflicted on his head and torso. He was rushed to the Temple University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead despite medical efforts.
The toddler wasn’t completely spared from the ordeal, as police confirmed that he incurred graze wounds on his legs and his head. Reportedly, the father had been holding his son when the attackers started firing gunshots. He dropped the child on the ground amidst the chaos.
As investigations continue, the police have gathered video evidence involving the suspects, seen wearing all-black outfits and driving off on a red scooter. No arrests have been made so far, and the victim’s identity remains undisclosed.
The toddler, appearing stable, was sent to a local hospital for treatment. The police have urged anyone with any relevant information to get in touch with their department.
