Dad shot and killed at youth football game

BELLFLOWER, CA – An early morning shooting outside St. John Bosco High School in Los Angeles County resulted in the death of a man attending a youth sports event, authorities reported. The incident unfolded at approximately 8:20 a.m. in the parking area near the school’s football stadium.

The victim was discovered inside a white sedan, notably suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, as detailed by Lt. Hugo Reynaga from the Sheriff’s Department.

Though immediate medical intervention was attempted, the man was declared dead at the hospital. His presence at the scene was linked to watching his son’s football game.

The female passenger in the car and other onlookers in the vicinity were unharmed. However, it was noted that the vehicle had been reported stolen and originated from Lynwood. The specifics surrounding the theft remain vague, adding to the mystery of the case.

Authorities suspect the shooting was intentional but lack concrete evidence, with no immediate indication of whether the victim was pursued to the location. The assailant, described as a Black male in a black hoodie and gray sweatpants, managed to make a swift exit in a second white sedan, driven by another person, before law enforcement arrived.
