HUNTINGTON, NY – A disconcerting discovery has shocked residents of Huntington, New York, as a human body was found inside a suitcase Tuesday. A local resident named Taylor made the grim find during her morning walk and promptly reported it to the police.
“I was taking a walk and I just, I smelled something. I saw a whole bunch of flies. I had looked over and I saw the suitcase,” Taylor said. She decided it was best to inform the authorities since this was certainly not normal.
The discovery has left the Huntington community upset and nervous. One resident, Flavio Ribadeneyra, returned home to find police cordoning off part of Nassau Road. He admitted to also detecting a foul smell Tuesday morning. “This is unbelievable,” he exclaimed, astounded at the gruesome incident happening so close to his residence.
Lenny Leavitt, another resident, termed the entire episode as “pretty heinous.” The dread of the incident still looms heavily over the community as several questions about the incident remain unanswered.
Currently, it is unclear how long the body had been in the suitcase before discovery, how the person died, and the victim’s identity. As authorities continue investigating the case, residents eagerly await answers to bring some resolution to this troubling incident.
