Domestic violence suspect dies after slamming truck into parked cars

COLLIERVILLE, TN – A man wanted in relation to a domestic violence incident died after a series of vehicular collisions on Saturday night in Collierville, including one with a police car.

Reports state that officers located the suspect inside a truck parked on East South Street near Mount Pleasant Road, with the victim of the reported domestic violence incident from August 30 driving that vehicle. After the victim managed to exit the vehicle, the suspect reportedly switched to the driver’s seat and sped away, striking a Collierville Police patrol car in the process.

Authorities report that the suspect subsequently lost control of the truck, crashing into two parked vehicles in a house driveway. The suspect was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. However, he did not survive his injuries.

Local residents reported hearing a loud sound resembling a boom, which spurred them to investigate outside their homes. They recounted seeing police officers with their weapons drawn and being instructed to return indoors for safety. Collierville residents Blake and Maddie Reynolds provided their account of the chaotic moments.

Details about the deceased suspect have yet to be released by the Collierville Police.
