Driver plows into restaurant, 30 people injured

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – A disastrous car crash in Apache Junction, Arizona, has resulted in injuries for approximately 30 people. The crash occurred when a vehicle plowed into an Elks Lodge restaurant in the suburb of Phoenix on Sunday.

The driver, identified as 73-year-old Thomas Edward Kain, reportedly lost control of his truck around 7 pm on Saturday as he attempted to leave the restaurant. He ended up colliding into the restaurant’s front side in the process. Authorities arrested Kain soon after the incident, asserting that alcohol was a factor that contributed to the crash. Specific charges against Kain have yet to be announced publicly.

According to the local police department, a bar patron dialed 911, warning about a man driving off from the bar just before the incident. The distress call alerted police to rush to the scene, describing it as a chaotic one with multiple injuries reported.

The crash injuries ranged from minor to severe. Among the injured, ten people were transported to the hospital via ground ambulances, and fifteen were treated at the scene. Suffering from a series of injuries, ranging from minor cuts to fractures, their conditions were deemed non-critical.

However, it was reported that one person’s condition was critical but stable. In addition to that, it was discovered that at least five other individuals had sought treatment on their own at nearby hospitals, having suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
