Drunk driver found passed out in strangers’ home after causing deadly car crash

HOUSTON, TX – A horrific incident unfolded outside of Houston after Texas man allegedly drove under the influence, leading to a fatal car accident. Identified as Daniel Alexander Rodriguez-Olivares, the man reportedly lost control of his 2016 BMW, resulting in the death of his female passenger.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Rodriguez-Olivares’s vehicle went airborne over a creek at high speed around 3 a.m. on Thursday. Traveling approximately 500 feet, the vehicle crashed into the fence of a business, rammed through multiple wooden barricades, dropped into a retaining ditch, and flipped over.

Leaving the crash site, a dazed Rodriguez-Olivares broke into a nearby house in an attempt to seek help. The occupants of the house were jolted awake by the sound of breaking glass. Carlos Suarez, the homeowner, recalled the intruder demanding assistance for his purportedly deceased wife before he passed out.

The authorities discovered Rodriguez-Olivares unconscious inside Suarez’s house and his deceased passenger lying in the wrecked vehicle. Throughout the altercation, the police reported that Rodriguez-Olivares revealed signs of intoxication and has since been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Tommy Batterson, whose family enterprise suffered damage during the accident, commented on the notorious speeding issue in the area, but admitted this incident was unlike any he’d previously encountered.

The incident continues to be under investigation.
