Ex-wife arrested for arranging professor’s murder

ATHENS, GREECE – A UC Berkeley professor’s ex-wife and four others have been arrested in connection with his murder while he was visiting Athens. The professor, who was in Greece to resolve custody matters, was tragically shot on July 4.

Greek authorities have detained the ex-wife and her current partner, suspecting their involvement in orchestrating the crime. Three additional suspects are believed to have assisted in providing the weapon used in the killing.

Friends of the professor, known affectionately as PJ, expressed their sorrow, remembering him as a devoted father to his twin children. The family had once resided in the Bay Area before the ex-wife returned to Greece with the children following their divorce.

A colleague from UC Berkeley expressed hope for justice and emphasized the importance of supporting the professor’s family, particularly in ensuring the well-being of his children. The tragic event has sparked a fundraiser, amassing over $754,000 to cover legal fees and repatriate his remains to Poland.

The professor’s loved ones are grappling with the loss, describing the incident as a senseless act that cut short a brilliant life. The implications for his young children are profound as they face an uncertain future.

The family has been contacted for their reaction to the arrest, and inquiries have been made about the children’s future arrangements. Further updates are awaited as the investigation continues.
