Father shot dead during targeted home invasion

FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – Tragedy unfolded late Wednesday night in Fort Bend County, where a home invasion claimed the life of a father. The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office reported that the fatal shooting was carried out by two unidentified subjects.

The shooting took place around 8:35 p.m. in the 8000 block of Rippling Stream Drive. The two assailants managed to escape and are currently on the run.

Reports indicate that the father, along with the mother and two children, were all awake when the unexpected intruders entered the home and fatally shot the father.

Following the deadly shooting, authorities have gathered substantial evidence suggesting that the attack was not random but a planned, targeted operation.

One of the family members called 911 after witnessing the horrific event unfurl. As per radio traffic recordings, deputies can be heard stating, “Someone came in and shot the stepdad. Looking at camera footage now. I’m trying to find a vehicle.”

Interestingly, a fifth member of the family, the eldest son, wasn’t present in the house when the incident took place. As investigations continue, detectives are also looking into a similar robbery that occurred at the same residence several years ago, in an effort to uncover any possible connections.
