Female Soldier’s Boyfriend Charged with Murder and Arson After Her Death

Samuel Jones, the boyfriend of a U.S. soldier whose body was discovered in a burning car outside Mililani High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Jones has been charged with murder and arson, according to multiple reports. Court records show that Jones was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the death of his girlfriend, 25-year-old Laau Jordan Laulusa.

Hawaii News Now spoke with the victim’s family, who revealed that Laulusa had suffered a fatal stab wound to her neck. Her body was found in the burning vehicle on Monday morning.

Witnesses reportedly informed the police that they saw a man, later identified as the 25-year-old Jones, near the car. He was allegedly opening and closing doors while the vehicle was on fire. The man then fled the scene on foot.

The witnesses followed the suspect, who they claim was armed with a blade or another weapon, until the police arrived.

There has been a $1 million bond set for Jones. There is no indication as to whether he has retained an attorney or entered a plea.
