SAN BERNARDINO, CA – A chilling murder-for-hire plot has surfaced in San Bernardino, leaving a 44-year-old woman dead and five men facing serious charges. The victim, identified as Yesenia Torres, was fatally shot on January 10 as she left a local restaurant, a grim event captured on surveillance cameras.
The footage reveals Torres entering her SUV when another car swiftly pulls up behind her. An assailant exits the vehicle, seizes her purse, and brandishes a firearm. Initially suspected as a robbery, the incident quickly turned deadly as the attacker fired multiple shots at Torres, who desperately attempted to flee.
Authorities released the surveillance video as part of a comprehensive investigation that has now led to multiple arrests. Among those apprehended is Gerardo, 31, from Bakersfield, who is believed to have pulled the trigger. Arnaldo Ruelas, 54, from Los Angeles, allegedly drove the getaway car.
The investigation intensified when witnesses provided crucial details, enabling detectives to track down the getaway vehicle. Inside, evidence was discovered linking the crime to a third suspect, 37-year-old Reynaldo Ruelas, Arnaldo’s brother.
