Florida woman accused of husband’s grisly murder

CLERMONT, FL – A woman from Clermont, aged 40, has been suspected of murdering her husband this past Sunday as reported by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Maria Rodriguez was taken into custody on Monday morning, facing charges of first-degree murder, according to arrest records.

Deputies swung into action upon arrival at a residence situated on the 10600 block of Lake Ralph Drive and discovered a deceased man with suspected gunshot wounds. The man was later identified as Andrew Rodriguez, husband to Maria Rodriguez.

The official affidavit states that Andrew was found lying sideways in a pool of blood with fired handgun cartridges littered around. A handgun was later discovered on the bathroom floor, as per the deputies’ account.

Further investigation into the events leading up to the murder revealed that a family member had expressed concerns about Maria Rodriguez’s peculiar behavior earlier in the night. The family member recalled Maria talking about having premonitions. A presumed witness claimed that Maria entered the bedroom after her husband and several gunshots were heard shortly after.

The affidavit further shed light on Maria’s sketchy actions after the shooting incident. She exited the bedroom carrying a notebook emphasizing its importance, it read. The contents of the notebook remain unknown at this time.

At present, Maria Rodriguez is being held in Lake County and denied any bond. The case is still under investigation.
