FORT WORTH, TX – Zach Muckleroy, a former Texas Christian University (TCU) football player and now the CEO of Muckleroy and Falls Construction Company, was killed in a car accident. The collision also claimed the lives of his two children. His wife, Lauren, was critically injured and rushed to an Austin hospital. The accident occurred as the family traveled to visit relatives for Thanksgiving in Texas.
The three-vehicle collision, which took place about 50 miles west of Austin on Highway 281, also led to the death of another individual whose identity has not been disclosed. Muckleroy’s children, 12-year-old Judson and 9-year-old Lindsey, have been confirmed dead.
Sharing the news of this tragic incident, Muckleroy and Falls Construction issued a statement asserting their heartbreak and described Muckleroy as having “a charisma” about him known to “light up any room he walked into”. The firm also highlighted his contributions to the Fort Worth Community.
During a Friday night vigil held at the University Christian Church in Fort Worth, close to hundreds attended in memory of the deceased. The church was one that generations of the Muckleroy family grew up attending. Lauren’s condition was updated during the vigil, making known that she had awakened post multiple surgeries since the crash.
Former TCU Coach Gary Patterson expressed his condolences over the loss of his ex-player and Muckleroy’s children. Muckleroy graduated from TCU with an Accounting and Finance degree in 2002 and was a member of the Horned Frogs football team in 1998.
