Four men arrested for participating in the murder of a 17-year-old girl

CEDAR CITY, UT – In a chilling turn of events, the small community of Cedar City is reeling from the tragic shooting of a 17-year-old girl, Kaylee Dunn. Authorities have identified the suspects involved in the case, which occurred on a quiet Friday night, leaving residents in shock and disbelief.

According to police, the incident unfolded when Dunn and two friends were driving along a local highway. They noticed a truck pursuing them, its bright headlights flashing menacingly. Despite attempts to evade, the truck pulled alongside and unleashed a barrage of 12 gunshots, fatally wounding Dunn. She was later pronounced dead at Cedar City Hospital, despite efforts to save her life.

The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of four individuals. Police named 23-year-old Michael Hess Key as the driver of the truck and 23-year-old Ethan Galloway as the shooter. Two others, 21-year-old Alex Philippe and 22-year-old Matthew Sober Petry, are accused of aiding in concealing evidence related to the crime. All four suspects have reportedly confessed to their roles during police interviews.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office revealed that the suspects believed they were being stalked at their apartment complex, which they claim sparked the violent confrontation. Detectives focused their efforts on this location, uncovering crucial evidence that led to the arrests.

Charges have been filed against the suspects. Hess Key and Galloway face charges of murder and obstruction of justice, while Philippe and Petry are charged with obstruction of justice and possession of a controlled substance. The community is grappling with the senseless loss of Dunn, and her family is now faced with the heart-wrenching task of arranging her funeral.

In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist Dunn’s family with funeral expenses and other costs. The fundraiser aims to collect $8,000, and donations have been steadily coming in, reflecting the community’s support and solidarity in this difficult time.

As Cedar City mourns the loss of a young life, questions linger about the circumstances that led to such a violent act. The investigation continues, with residents hoping for justice and healing for the grieving family.
