Four people found dead in suspected murder-suicide

BRONX, NY – Four people are dead following an apparent triple murder-suicide in the Bronx, authorities reported Thursday. The suspect, who allegedly left a chilling voicemail for his son, is believed to have killed his elderly mother, daughter, and her boyfriend before taking his own life.

Police responded to the tragic scene at the Castle Hill Houses around 9:45 a.m. after receiving a request for a wellness check. The suspect, a 44-year-old man, had reportedly left a cryptic message for his 20-year-old son in North Carolina, urging him to “check on your family.”

Upon entering the apartment on Lacombe Avenue, officers discovered the bodies of the suspect, his 75-year-old mother, his 26-year-old daughter, and her boyfriend, who was also in his 20s. All four were pronounced dead from apparent gunshot wounds, with the suspect believed to have died by a self-inflicted wound.

Neighbors described the suspect’s mother as a beloved figure in the community. “She was a nice lady with a big heart,” one resident remarked, recalling their frequent gatherings in the neighborhood.

The investigation is being treated as a triple murder-suicide, with detectives recovering a firearm from the scene. Authorities are still piecing together the events leading up to the tragedy, with many questions remaining unanswered.

As the community mourns, police continue to process the crime scene on the fifth floor of the building, seeking further insights into the motive behind the killings.

A relative of the victims is expected to provide more details later today, as the neighborhood grapples with the shock of the sudden loss.
