High school students caught with rifles on campus

MCEACHERAN HIGH SCHOOL, GA – Two male teenagers, aged 18, faced arrest at McEachern High School this Thursday after they were discovered with a gun. The incident ignited fear among the students following the AirDrop of a photo of a gun to them, according to the confiscated arrest warrants.

The suspects are now accused of myriad charges, encompassing reckless conduct and public school disturbances. The warrants for the arrest outline that one suspect allegedly introduced a “suspected rifle” onto school property and concealed it in the school bathroom. As for the other suspect, his warrant indicates that he reportedly carried a rife to school. This behavior caused distress and posed potential harm to students, faculty, and parents.

Although the principal of the school mentioned both suspects as current students in a message distributed to parents, the warrants denote one of the teens as not being registered in high school at present, leaving room for uncertainty over his past enrolment status at McEachern.

Both arrested teens were admitted to the Cobb County Jail on Thursday, but were later released on a bond amounting to $10,000 each. They were simultaneously given instructions to abstain from visiting the school. The incident also led to the imposition of a temporary Code Yellow at the school, eventually lifted to facilitate regular dismissal of students.

Following the incident, a district spokesperson expressed gratitude for the immediate action by police representatives and appealed to everyone, including parents and media, to lend their support to these law enforcement officers.
