Hit-and-run crash leaves two young brothers dead

ANTIOCH, CA – Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run suspect following a fatal accident that resulted in the death of two young brothers in Antioch, a San Francisco Bay area community. The wreck occurred approximately at 11.30 pm on Friday, as reported by the local Antioch Police Department.

The law enforcement officers responded to a traffic collision notification at an intersection. They arrived at a crash scene that involved two vehicles, one carrying two boys, aged 12 and 13. The boys were immediately transported by ambulance to local hospitals, where, unfortunately, they succumbed to their injuries.

The driver of one vehicle fled from the scene on foot immediately after the accident. The police believe excessive speed and reckless driving contributed to this tragic incident.

An eyewitness remembered seeing a black SUV running fast past them. After hearing a crash, the witness headed towards the scene and found the driver of the car supposedly struck by the SUV. The man, believed to be the father of the two boys, was assisted by the witness to remove one of his sons from the car.

With their hunt for the fleeing driver ongoing, the Antioch police are encouraging anyone with valuable information to contact their department.
