Luis Moron Romero, 40, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering a woman he was having a relationship with in 2018.
Marquez went to Romero’s apartment to end their relationship, and Romero violently killed her afterwards.
Romero was arrested days after the death of 38-year-old Maria Marquez. Police said he had hit her in the head at least six times with a hammer and then put her body in her own truck and drove it to a nearby vacant lot and abandoned it, according to police.
The DA’s office said that Romero killed Marquez, put her body in his truck, and drove away. He was later linked to another murder, and was given the maximum sentence of life in prison.
In addition to this, he was found guilty of murdering another victim- Guillermo Gonzalez- the year prior. He stabbed Gonzalez to death and left the body at an abandoned car wash.
