FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, MI – Police in Lenawee County, Michigan, recently stumbled upon human remains during a search of a property connected to a missing woman, presumed dead. Dee Warner was reported missing in April 2021. Her husband, Dale John Warner, stands accused of her murder, having been charged with open murder and evidence tampering last November, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The ongoing property search operation conducted by the Michigan State Police led to the unearthing of the remains. However, the identities are yet to be confirmed.
Local news outlets received family tips that the search that took place on Friday yielded the remains from a sealed anhydrous ammonia tank usually used in crop fertilizing. Lt. Rene Gonzalez of the Michigan State Police confirmed the search timing but did not elaborate due to the ongoing investigation.
Dee was last seen alive on the morning of April 25, 2021, in Franklin Township, and from that day onwards, she lost all contact with family and friends. She was 52 at the time of her disappearance.
Her husband, Dale Warner, is awaiting a pretrial hearing currently scheduled for September 4 at the Lenawee County Jail, where he presently resides. Dale’s attorney, Mary Chartier, expressed her belief that the evidence, or rather the lack thereof, will prove that Mr. Warner is not a murderer.
