FAYETTEVILLE, GA – A disturbing incident unfolded in Fayetteville, Georgia, where a man is accused of killing his wife, burning her body, and then burying the remains. Kenneth Hardin Jr. was arrested in Louisiana and is presently in custody, awaiting extradition charges to Georgia.
Hardin is implicated in the murder of his wife, Carrie Hardin. Her partially burnt body was discovered in a shallow grave at the rear of their home in Fayetteville. The sheriff’s office confirmed that the body showed signs of gunshot wounds, and it was concealed beneath yard debris. Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb commented on the shocking incident, which had overwhelmed local law enforcement.
Hardin reportedly confessed to his father about murdering his wife. He claimed it was “self-defense,” after which he incinerated her corpse and opted to dodge the authorities.
Consequently, Hardin’s father alerted law enforcement about his confession, leading to Hardin’s impromptu motel arrest in Covington, Louisiana, with assistance from multiple local law enforcement agencies.
The case continues to be under investigation, with Fayette County detectives in Louisiana for additional questioning of the apprehended suspect. Meanwhile, the couple’s two young children, both currently attending school, are being taken care of by their extended family.
