Husband and wife found dead inside of their home

AMERICAN FORK, UT – Police are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide incident after discovering a married couple dead in their American Fork home on Thursday. Both victims had sustained gunshot wounds, said American Fork Police Chief Cameron Paul.

The couple was found by a family member at 1410 N 80 E in American Fork, who called the police around 12:41 p.m. and described the incident as a “murder-suicide.” However, Chief Paul noted some “unique variables” at the scene that prevented investigators from immediately confirming the nature of the incident. Paul explained that the medical examiner’s office will help determine the exact circumstances leading to the couple’s death.

Neighbors spoke highly of the couple, praising their kindness, love, and dedication to serving their community. Just the previous night, they had participated in a neighborhood softball game. The couple’s sudden death leaves the tight-knit community in shock.

The wife was also known for being heavily involved with the youth in their local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ward, showcasing her talents as a singer, performer, and vocal coach. Meanwhile, the husband volunteered with local search and rescue operations.

The couple reportedly had six children, but police are yet to confirm the details of the family setup.
