An alarming incident occurred in a Lawrenceville home on Sunday afternoon that resulted in one brother being charged with the shooting death of the other.
According to Gwinnett police, 21-year-old Justin Lacy was inside a house situated off Brook Lea Cove. Around 3 p.m., he fired a shot through a bedroom door. The bullet tragically struck his 31-year-old brother, Bryson Moten.
Family members present at the scene did their best to provide immediate medical assistance, but their efforts couldn’t save Bryson. The severity of his injuries led to his untimely death.
Gwinnett County Police Department confirmed that the shooting incident involved two brothers. However, the police have yet to reveal the circumstances or the dispute that might have led to this tragic event.
Following the incident, Justin Lacy was apprehended and is now facing serious charges. The charges include involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct, and possession of a firearm during the execution of specific felonies.
Currently, Lacy is being held at the Gwinnett County Jail.
